THE VILLAGE AND CHURCHES OF CHARWELTON

About Charwelton And Its Churches

Charwelton is one of the smaller villages in the Knightley Benefice and is home to around 220 people (including around 44 under 20) living in 101 dwellings. It has a pub, "The Fox And Hounds", which is owned by the villagers and a village hall. In addition to the Church of the Holy Trinity, the village is also home to a small chapel which, as well as being used for regular worship, the Benefice uses for meetings of the Churchwardens and the Benefice Council.

Holy Trinity uses the Book of Common Prayer and usually holds a 9:30 communion service each month with evening prayers being held in the Chapel. (see Service Plans).

We also use the Church for concerts and other events.  For the last 6 years we have had an annual summer concert by the John Cleveland Band which is an extremely popular event and is almost always sold out.   There is a bar in a marquee in the churchyard for pre concert and interval drinks (and for a picnic if the weather is suitable - which it usually is).   A short clip from the first concert in 2014 is here.
